Sri Lanka is a beautiful island with so many different types of things and many kinds of major and minor tourist attractions. Beaches, mountains, wild life, different cultures, forests, Buddhism, tea plantations, fancy hotels, all kind of climates, waterfalls, historical monuments, and many more things are there. So Sri Lanka play a roll including everything for travelers. So, you better known what do you want to see and do their before you go.



Here majority of people do speak Sinhala and Tamil. also, big number of people do speak English too. If you ask somebody for directions, of course they will tell you with body launage if they don’t speak English. People are really nice to tourist in this island. In the big city area’s most of people speak English. Only in country side you can’t expect English speakers.

There are few ways that you can make your transport. Main transportation is buses and trains. Mainly you can find a bus to go anywhere in the country for very cheap price, most of buses don’t have Air-conditioned. Trains also easy and cheap .in some trains you have Air-conditioned. You can get in to a Bus and trains without a reservation but seats are not guaranteed. If you thinking about long journey more than one week, if then would be easy to find car with driver before you come to Sri Lanka or after you come. However, make sure about the prices before you go. And for the short distance always nice and easy to get in to a tuk tuk.馃槉


Hiring a car tuk tuk or motorbike.

Like every other country in the world, you must need a valid driving license from your home country and also a valid international driving permit (I.D.P) to rent a bike or car in Sri Lanka. road rules in Sri Lanka are bit more strict and every road don’t have聽聽 different lines to drive. From push bike to a car every one drive in one track. As a tourist this is bit scared. Sometimes hiring scooter is very fun but make sure you always wear a helmet and have insurance covered.


Sri Lankan Currency.

Sri Lankan official currency is Rupees. Most places don’t accept international money. So better always keep some of Sri Lankan rupees and聽 few of your聽 international notes. Whenever you want change the money, better go to a bank .whenever you want to pay small amounts better keep Sri Lankan rupees because Euro or dollar always have higher聽聽 value compared to local money.

Getting a sim card is easy and affordable and you don’t have to rely on Wi-Fi. You can get one even getting out of the Colombo airport. After you made money exchange, walk up to the tele communication company at the exit and give documents they ask for. Travel packages of cellular companies are quite convenient and have the best coverage. 1GB sim card can be purchased for around $3 with international and local credits.


Carry all the things with you what are necessary for the trip!

Before you travel in Sri Lanka be well prepared for your trip. At least you need a basic knowledge about the tour itinerary you plan to visit. You must carrying with you the necessary things with you. If you are exploring the countryside or hill country, you have to buy matching clothes for a rainy and cold weather. And also if you are panning to visit beach sides carry with you quality sunscreens. The weather in Sri Lanka is different as you move from place to place.


Sri Lanka is bit expensive .

When you compare to Asian countries Sri Lanka is a little bit expensive. Costs of your travel depending on what you choose to do their. Accommodation, meals, transportation can be bit higher compared to other asian countries. And here to do an activities, enter to a museum, entering to a tourist site, everything you have to pay here.


Find about the weather and climate

This county has a pleasant sunshine and clear sky all your around. The nations expecting two monsoons in a year. The southwest monsoon from June to October and Northeast monsoon is December to March. But in any raining season it mostly rain in the night time and day time is more sunshine and clear. However, its better advice with you expertise.


The days you cannot get Alcohol.

In general, every traveler can get Alcohol in hotel’s bars or in the public liquor stores from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. But there are some of specific dates that you can’t get them. Specially On full moon days ( Poya days) and government religious holidays , and some of election days, These days you are not able to get any Alcohol from the liquor stores or from your hotel. And please don’t try to get them on illegal way. It鈥檚 very strict and punishable. If you really need to have some Alcohol you are free to get them earlier day and have them inside your room.
