Nilaveli beach, a snorkeling Paradise
Nilaveli is famous for recreational water sports such as scuba diving and pearly sand & breathtaking coastline. This is a tangible proof of serenity in our island.
Nilaveli is located Northeast of the island, near Trincomalee. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Sri Lanka. It certainly has that feeling of paradise. Island remoteness, with plenty of bending palms swaying over the golden sand. Nilaveli means: open land of the moon shine. That’s the truth. Pigeon Island National Park is very close to Nilaveli beach. It’s one of the two Marine National Parks of the region and is situated 1km off the coast of Nilaveli. Its many species of vegetation, coral and reef fish contributing to Nilaveli’s reach biodiversity. The beauty of the underwater world is amazing. A diving or snorkeling trip is a ‘must have’ when visiting Nilaveli Beach.
The beach is ideal to visit during April and October. This is a must in everyone’s itinerary when visiting Sri Lanka.

Arugam Bay, a surfing Walhalla
Arugam Bay, located on the East coast of the island in close proximity to Kumana, is very famous for its surfing points that attract surfers from all over the world. Many people make here their home during the surfing period. This beach is very clean & most of the young generation is coming here because of the surfing. All the things that you want for surfing can be hired at the beach. If you are a new surfer, there are some teachers and they will give a best training here. Because of that, this beach is very famous for surfing trainers.
The most favored season is from April to October with the average height of waves being 1.5 to 2.5 meters. Main surf spots are Pottuvil point, main break and crocodile rock. And also you can enjoy diving & snorkelling around Arugam Bay.
Unawatuna, relaxation in Heaven
Unawatuna is the most popular beach of the Southern Sri Lankan coast and one of the biggest tourist destinations in Sri Lanka and is the most famous beach in country. It is a lovely banana- shaped beach of the golden sand and turquoise water, surrounded by green palm trees. This beach is famous for tourists and in the afternoon Sri Lankan families come to the beach to swim and relax with the beautiful sunset in the background. This beach is located in a bay, which means that you can safety swim. The slopping, soft-sand bottom makes the beach ideal for families with children.
The narrow road through Unawatuna is lined with small shops selling moonstone jewelry, cafes, guesthouses and restaurants.
